On the ship Carnival Triumph - Sept. 9, 2008

We left Miami Sunday morning and had Yolanda (my name for our GPS system - altho Ernie suggested "Agnes") direct us to the Port of Miami. Went thru the check-in process and pulled out around 4:45 pm - it was a beautiful day and the Miami waterfront is spectacular. Leaving port is always exciting - lots of hoopla and excitement. Afterwards we went to our room to unpack and settle in - then had lunch on the Lido deck. Dinner is assigned seating and there are 2 friendly couples at our table who are a lot of fun, so they are our tablemates at each dinner. Our room is so nice - having a balcony is the way to go. it's cleaned twice a day and the staff are meticulous and very friendly. They are all from different countries. There are live stage shows in the evening that are very good. Yesterday we were at sea all day, so we relaxed and ate and walked around. The evening was formal dining - everyone got very dressed up, so that was fun. We are disappointed our tour was cancelled - the sea is very choppy. The water is a beautiful color of deep blue. So that's all for now - Ernie's getting restless! --Joyce
